Written for my beautiful daughter who proudly
serves in the U.S. Army.

My daughter's away, being all she can be,
Training to fight, to save you and me.
I hope when you see her dressed in her fatigues,
You'll be proud, and thank her for keeping you free.
She's an army of one so strong and so brave,
She's got your back so don't be afraid.
She's worked long and hard, she's steady and true,
She's sacrificed much for the red, white, and blue.
So tonight as you lie in your bed soft and warm,
Ask God to bless her and keep her from harm.
