To Linger
    by Dominque

To linger in the world of wonders
world of shadows, world you ponder.
to seek upon the edge of time
less than seconds in a chime.
to linger in these worlds around you
the world of twilight
I search I find you
all alone
with everything to fear
a shadow afraid that light is near.
but I call your name
and you hear a sound
and now you know that you are found.
You're afraid of shadows.
I am light
and I am your only starbright.
you cannot enter me through a thought.
you must reach light
and you have fought.
so I came to rescue you and all
and you shall not ever fall.
but you do
breaking that latch
you know you'll fall into my open catch.

The young author writes, "Hey, this is Dominque again. see, I'm that girl who lived in Miami Florida, but I
moved to Jacksonville Arkansas. Weird, right? oh well. Now it has been
officially a year since I found Poetryfans. June 13 was my birthday. the same as Marykate and Ashley. now I'm twelve. you know what's weird? there are barely any
black people in Arkansas. Where is my kind? well, I hope you enjoy my poem about finding friendship.
