When I Miss You (poem 1 of 2)
    by Karim Gueniche

When I miss you
On this desert beach
I call your name
And I beg waves
So that they can
Carry my voice to you.

When I miss you
I want to be a bird
I want to be a breath
So that I can
Cross this immense ocean
And touch your hands.

When I miss you
I feel my soul
Wants to fly towards
This remote horizon
So that it can tell
How much I love you.

When I miss you
I take your photo
In my hands
And I talk to you
As you are next to me.

When I miss you
I write a poem
In which I engrave
The story of this man
Who dreams to be
Rewarded by your love.

  If . . .  (poem 2 of 2)
    by Karim Gueniche

If the flowers need water
So that they bloom

If the baby needs milk
So that he grows

If the heart needs blood
So that it beats

If the birds need wings
So that they fly

I just need you, so not to die.
