Moments in time
precious Jewels
A warm embrace
comfort and need
A sweet smile
eternal Joy
Blessed sweetness
in your eyes
I hold to these
close to my Heart
Little hands that clutch mine

Simple poems have precedent, like Blake's
"Infant Joy:
Infant Joy
"I have no name;
I am but two days old."
What shall I call thee?
"I happy am,
Joy is my name."
Sweet joy befall thee!
Pretty joy!
Sweet joy, but two days old.
Sweet Joy I call thee:
Thou dost smile,
I sing the while;
Sweet joy befall thee!

Rei H. of Lancaster, California
writes, "I am 34 (I'll be 35 April 7th). I am a single female. I
love to write poetry, but I am sometimes not satisfied with the way
it turns out. I guess I enjoy the process but not the end result as
much. My favorite poem is
Sonnet 29 by
Shakespeare, but my favorite poet is Robert Frost. The poem I am
submitting is dedicated to all parents. "
