I.O. Idamoyibo, a native of Nigeria has written forceful poems lamenting the current state of affairs in his native land, Shells Without Flesh, A Lament for My  Beloved Country, Nigeria and The Shameless Negotiators. Plus two additional poems beginning with Can Life Rewind?

As a follow-up to his earlier poems, I.O. Idamoyibo has submitted four poems of tribute to those of most importance in his life.

Linda Wlodyka of Cheshire, Massachusetts writes of love's uncertain course in Restless Abandon. She previously submitted Unconditionally about nature's intervention on her spirit, and she evokes mystery in the shadows of Twilight.

Nicole A. Laskero-Monroe from Chicago, Illinois had time to think when recovering from illness. Here is what she learned—As I Mature. She hopes the poem reaches those who are in need of inspiration.

Becca from Chile writes of a troubled relationship with her stepfather in Silent.

The original poems included at our Web site express a range of emotions, from joy to sorrow and from hope to despair. These are feelings that we all experience  throughout our lives. There may be some poems, however, that question the value of life, as in Hamlet's "To Be or Not to Be" speech, which could be quite disconcerting for some readers. Our hope is that the expression of even very negative emotions through poetry will have some therapeutic value and perhaps encourage us to reach out to one another.  We also believe in the power of positive thoughts to help us endure difficult times, as in Keats's poem To Hope.

Of course, there are some life circumstances that task our inner resources and require that we seek help from professionals. Please see these help links if you or someone you know needs help in solving life crises, has depression, or is contemplating suicide.

Here and The Stolen Smile are two poems written by Barbara Kelsey that express contrasting feelings of warmth and sorrow. The second poem is about "the warmth of a certain person's smile that can draw you back from the edge, that can make the days warm "

These are  followed by a bonus poem from Ms. Kelsey.

Power of Art We agree with Steve Anderson when he says in his poem that "Art can make you feel so much / When you were just feeling nothing."
