Forgive and Forget

A tie-dyed T-shirt
Golden hair glimpsed from behind
I remember that

After Lenten months
Inhuman penitence
Longing for you

What begins must end.
Before we knew each other
Who were we?

So much to forget
All things that never happened
So much to forgive
