Saved by the Bell

“I can’t stand baseball; it’s the one thing I hate”
Thought little Billy as he stepped up to the plate.
“Stop the game! Please coach Pat!
Today I simply cannot bat!”
“Why is that?” asked Coach with alarm
Billy lied, “I hurt my arm”
“Just go to the end of the line
I’ll give your arm a little more time.”
Billy walked past Mike, Kayla, Pat and Kim
All the way to the other side of the gym
“Ha-ha” thought Billy, “I don’t have to bat!
I cannot believe the coach believed that!”
Time passed until Kim reached the plate
“Oh no!” said Billy, “How will I escape!”
“Stop the game! Please coach Pat!
Today I simply cannot bat!”
“What’s wrong now?” Coach started to shout
“I feel like I’m gonna pass out!”
“Sit for five minutes, then come back
Because today you have to bat”
Billy sat down and was feeling sly
So he began to think of his next lie
When Coach would say “what’s wrong now?”
He would reply, “I can’t play baseball, I don’t know how!”
BUZZ!  He’s out of this hell
Finally, saved by the bell.
