Silent Struggle

Fair notions dance inside my head
My soul's intentions none can see.
The wanting of my heart concealed
My fantasy will never be.

My mouth is shut but ripe to speak
Confessions of my heart's desire
Like embers from the dying flame
The promise of a raging fire.

But I dare not to utter words.
My secret in my heart I keep,
And though I wish to make it known
My love for you I cannot speak.
