A Strange Pair

What a strange pair are the heart and the mind
One loves,
And the other works non-stop like a spinning wheel
One thinks,
And the other feels.

They are a strange pair that work well together
The heart is wild,
And the mind is tame
The heart seeks friendship,
And the mind seeks fame.

They are a strange pair, each with its own personality
The heart does not hesitate,
While the mind will evaluate
The heart may become sad,
But the mind just gets mad.

They are a strange pair that share life and death
One overloads and crumbles,
While the other breaks.
One gets stressed,
And the other aches.

The heart and mind make a strange team
But listen to them both,
For together they dream.
