Spare a thought for the hated
Spare a thought for the loved
Spare a thought for me
Me, the hated,
The lonely,
The quiet one,
The distant one,
The "emu-like" one,
Why do your eyes hold such hate for me?
Me, the ugly one
Me, the one with no chance in the social high
Me, the person who opens up to few
Me, I am the one me.
Spare a thought for those who hate me,
For those who love me,
For those who feel sorry for me,
For those who lie to me.
Spare those who have poison in them,
For those who have hate,
For those who never give up,
For those with disease,
For those like me.
Spare a thought for these people and those who walk by you,
For these people could be gone in the blink of an eye.

Shannon R. Wiegand writes, “Well, there's not much to say. I'm a little depressed at times, and people say I have "issues". My life has revolved around poems and writing stories that have a dark atmosphere to them. I have read so many novels that I find my self creating stories close to those I have read. Most of my poems have to do with hate, love, loss of a special person, and more. My friends, family, and teachers all admire my work and they say I'll be good one day. I think my interest in Shakespeare’s 'Romeo and Juliet' has made me more attracted to poems and writing. One of my favorite lines from "Romeo and Juliet" is said by Juliet is when she and Romeo have to make a fast good bye. 'Good night! Good Night! Parting is such sweet sorrow, that I shall say good night 'till it be tomorrow.' ”
